About STRAINER FILTERS
1. Primary Configuration Types
- Y-Strainer: Best for compact horizontal or vertical downward pipelines with lower debris loads.
- Basket / T-Strainer: Best for horizontal lines with high debris loads requiring regular cleaning.
- Duplex Strainer: Features dual chambers to allow continuous flow while cleaning one side.
2. Materials of Construction (MoC)
- Body: Cast Iron (low cost/pressure), Carbon Steel (high pressure/temp), Stainless Steel 304/316 (corrosive or high-purity fluids), or PVC / Polymers (water treatment/irrigation).
- Filter Screen (Mesh): Typically SS 304 or SS 316 for durability and rust resistance.
