About SS PLEATED FILTER CARTRIDGES

Stainless Steel (SS) Pleated Filter Cartridges are reusable, high-surface-area filter elements engineered out of precision stainless steel woven wire mesh or sintered fiber felt. While standard cylindrical wrap-type metal elements are smooth, a pleated design folds the metallic media inward and outward, expanding the total filtration surface area by 3 to 4 times. This expansion allows the cartridge to maintain higher flow rates and significantly boost its overall dirt-holding capacity before requiring cleaning.

Structural Anatomy & Custom Specs

An industrial-grade SS pleated cartridge is manufactured utilizing no glue or resin binders, keeping the pathway completely chemically pure. They are typically composed of:

The Pleated Filtration Layer: Made using multiple layers of precision SS 304 or SS 316L wire mesh. For extreme applications, a middle stainless-steel sintered felt layer is sandwiched between an upstream protective layer and a downstream drainage support layer.
Inner Support Core & Outer Cage: A heavy-gauge, perforated stainless steel inner core stops the pleats from collapsing inward under severe differential pressure. An optional external perforated sleeve protects the pleats during physical handling. [1]
Welded End Caps: The cartridge end caps are completely TIG-welded to the pleated media pack, eliminating any chance of particle bypass. They can be ordered with custom adapter configurations:
- DOE: Double Open End (flat gaskets at both ends).
- Code 7: 226 O-ring with 2 locking ears/bayonet tabs.
- Code 3: 222 double O-ring with a flat end cap.
- Threaded Ends: Male/Female BSP or NPT threaded connectors for highly vibrating machinery lines.
