Polypropylene (PP) Wound-Type Filter Cartridges (commonly known as string-wound or yarn-wound filters) are disposable, heavy-duty depth filtration elements. They are constructed by continuously wrapping a textured PP fiber cord or yarn around a rigid, perforated center core.
Unlike standard melt-blown (spun) cartridges that can choke quickly on heavy dirt, the specialized pattern of a wound filter creates a true graded-density honeycomb structure. This design provides up to 4 times the dirt-holding capacity, catching large particles on the wide outer wraps while trapping microscopic particles deep near the center core.

- The Winding Pattern: Winding machinery relies on precision gear pitches to create consistent micro-pore intersections. The yarn is wound loosely on the outside and progressively tighter toward the center, ensuring consistent depth particle retention.
- Core Material Options:
- Polypropylene Core (Standard): Keeps the element budget-friendly and completely metal-free for water treatment and corrosive acid/alkali filtration.
- Stainless Steel Core (SS 304/316): Replaces the PP core when operating under extreme temperatures or severe high-pressure spikes
